Ivy League Sports

There are many different athletic possibilities for a student in the Ivy League. Sports include the following and many more:

  • Soccer
  • Squash
  • Ice Hockey
  • Rowing
  • Swimming and Diving
  • Track & Field
  • Lacrosse
  • Fencing

This is by no means an exhaustive list; however, it does give solid glance at the range of sports that one could play in the Ivies. Overall, there are around 35 varsity teams at each of the schools that make up the Ivy League universities. These schools include the following: Brown; Columbia; Cornell; Dartmouth; Harvard; Penn; Princeton; and Yale. One of the first things your student athlete needs to do if they’re after the generous financial aid such as grants that may well come with admission to an Ivy (the Ivies do not provide athletic scholarships for college), is to prepare now. Ideally, preparation begins no later than the summer after sophomore year in high school, as the coaches at these elite schools may not have opportunities for a student athlete that procrastinates until later on into the process to get started. The process begins with educating yourself on the possibilities and learning about how the recruitment game is played. Just like any sport, there are rules to be followed, and with our E-Books, you’ll have all the information you need at your fingertips. For an incredibly low price, you can have both Ivy League and Other Elite College Sports Recruiting 2009 and Ivy League and Other Elite College Sports Recruiting E-Glossary.

Athletic Scholarships for College

Getting offers of athletic scholarships for college at top colleges or generous financial aid at the Ivies can be a dream come true for any student athlete that shows promise. However, you cannot command success, but you can deserve it. George Washington’s words ring true, and there are many ways that your student athlete can make sure that they deserve attention from the Ivy League. First, the importance of grades cannot be understated. Having a solid GPA and test scores will get you in the door. But, they will not get you accepted, nor will they get you financial assistance. Athletic skills can set your student athlete apart, and attitude, character, and honesty go along with this. With IvyAthlete.com’s E-Books, you’ll have the information you need to begin preparing now for the Ivy League sports experience.
